NDMC Organises Yoga Camps In Delhi Ahead Of International Yoga Day; Locals Participate In Large Number

In early preparation for International Yoga Day on June 21, the New Delhi Municipal Council has organised Yoga camps in the national capital. Visuals from Lodhi Gardens show people participated in large numbers. The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated worldwide annually on June 21 since 2015, after PM Modi’s proposal to dedicate a day to celebrate the ancient Indian fitness routine was formally accepted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Yoga is vital for maintaining physical and mental well-being, integrating physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to promote overall health. Practicing yoga enhances flexibility, strength, and balance, while also reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. It fosters mindfulness and a sense of inner peace, making it a holistic approach to achieving harmony between the body and mind. Additionally, yoga supports better sleep, boosts the immune system, and can aid in the management of chronic conditions, underscoring its importance in a healthy lifestyle.
